Agentic AI marketplace turns mega-event connectivity into a real-time ecosystem
Mega events such as the Olympics, major football tournaments and large-scale cultural festivals create some of the world’s most demanding connectivity environments. Services must span stadiums, transport corridors, broadcast hubs, fan zones and public spaces, while supporting broadcasters, sponsors, enterprise customers, public safety teams and millions of fans.
For communications service providers (CSPs), the opportunity is significant. Mega events can create demand for premium 5G slices, edge compute, private networks, distributed antenna systems, Wi-Fi, immersive fan experiences and sponsor-backed value-added services. Yetmany of the systems needed to deliver these services remain static, siloed and heavily manual, making it difficult to provision services quickly, maintain SLAs and capture new revenue.
The Catalyst, Value-driven agentic AI marketplace for mega events, addresses this challenge by demonstrating how CSPs can use a standards-based agentic AI marketplace to dynamically compose and assure multi-vendor connectivity and value-added services in real time. The project addresses the Composable IT and Ecosystem Mission challenge and shows how TM Forum standards can support a new model for ecosystem operations.
The project introduces a value-driven agentic AI marketplace in which autonomous, goal-driven AI agents represent CSP and partner capabilities and collaborate under defined policy and governance guardrails. Instead of relying on rigid OSS/BSS workflows, the marketplace translates business intent into executable outcomes, such as venue connectivity needs, sponsored promotions, SLA goals or premium customer experiences.
Using TM Forum Open Digital Architecture, Open APIs and agent-to-agent protocols, the marketplace discovers available agents, composes agentic solutions and orchestrates multi-vendor execution at runtime. It coordinates intent handling, agent discovery, solution composition, execution and assurance, enabling rapid delivery of complex event services such as 5G slicing, edge compute, broadcast-grade connectivity and sponsor-backed AR/VR experiences across multiple venues.
The approach also supports closed-loop adaptation. Real-time telemetry and policy-bound autonomy allow services to adjust dynamically as conditions change, from crowd surges and latency drift to localized congestion. Human-in-the-loop oversight remains available for critical decisions, helping maintain trust, control and compliance while enabling much faster response than manual coordination alone.
A key innovation in the Catalyst is the way it operationalizes TM Forum’s Open Digital Architecture as a composable IT model. Capabilities are exposed as independently deployable, policy-governed agentic building blocks that can be reused across multiple scenarios and dynamically combined to deliver business intent.
The team is using and advancing a broad set of TM Forum assets, including IG1502 Value Driven Agentic AI Marketplace Use Case, the Ecosystem Reference Architecture, Composable IT, ODA, ODA Components and ODA Intelligence Management. It also leverages TM Forum Open APIs including TMF620 Product Catalog Management, TMF622 Product Ordering, TMF641 Service Ordering, TMF640 Service Activation, TMF639 Resource Inventory, TMF628 Performance Management, TMF642 Alarm Management, TMF678 Billing, TMF632 and TMF666 Party and Account Management, and TMF688 Event Management.
By mapping agent-to-agent interaction to ODA components, the project demonstrates how CSPs and partners can buy, sell, build, certify and govern ecosystem agents through a marketplace model. This creates a reusable blueprint for agentic AI-enabled composable IT operations and gives CSPs a practical path to evolve from connectivity providers into ecosystem orchestrators.
The business case for the Catalyst is centered on faster time to value, improved service assurance and new monetization models. The team estimates potential EBITDA upside of up to 17% from agentic AI operations, supported by cost optimization of 22%, productivity improvement of 69% and revenue growth of 9%.
For mega events, this could mean activating multi-venue connectivity, edge services and partner value-added services in minutes instead of days. It could also enable premium slices, edge compute tiers, sponsor-backed services and outcome-based SLAs, while reducing manual coordination, speeding remediation and improving SLA stability.
For event organizers, broadcasters and fans, the potential impact is equally important: more reliable connectivity for mission-critical services, more consistent high-performance experiences and more efficient use of network capacity. Dynamic optimization can also help reduce environmental and operational waste by aligning resources more closely with real-time demand.

At DTW Ignite 2026, the Catalyst showcased how agentic AI can support real-time, multi-vendor service composition for complex event environments. The demonstration showed how business intent can be interpreted, matched with partner and CSP capabilities, translated into executable service outcomes and continuously assured through telemetry and closed-loop feedback.
For the wider telecom industry, the Catalyst points to a shift in how advanced services are created, traded and assured. By combining marketplace economics, policy-bound autonomy and TM Forum standards, it provides a repeatable model for CSPs to orchestrate ecosystem capabilities around business outcomes, accelerate partner collaboration and unlock new value from high-demand, high-stakes environments.
